KKR vs DC: Delhi Capitals ended their journey with a win, defeated Kolkata by 40 runs in the last league match of this season.

KKR vs DC: Delhi Capitals has ended its journey in the Indian Premier League 2026 with a win. Whereas the journey of Kolkata Knight Riders has ended with defeat. In the last league match of this season played at Eden Gardens, Delhi Capitals defeated KKR by 40 runs. In reply to 204 runs given by Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders were all out for 163 runs in 18.4 overs. KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane played an inning of 63 runs. Whereas for Delhi Capitals, Lungi Ngidi and Kuldeep Yadav took 3 wickets each. While Mitchell Starc took 2-2 wickets.

KKR had a good start

Kolkata Knight Riders had a good start to chase the target of 204 runs given by Delhi Capitals. There was a partnership of 43 runs for the first wicket between captain Ajinkya Rahane and Finn Allen, but then Lungi Ngidi gave a shock to Kolkata by dismissing Finn Allen. Allen returned to the pavilion after scoring 20 runs off 13 balls.

Kolkata Knight Riders have suffered a second blow in the form of Manish Pandey. Lungi Ngidi showed him the way to the pavilion. Manish Pandey was out after scoring 25 runs in 15 balls. After this, Kuldeep Yadav gave the third blow to Kolkata Knight Riders by dismissing Cameron Green. Green walked away after scoring only 2 runs.

Kuldeep Yadav destroyed KKR’s batting order by taking 2 consecutive wickets.

After this, Kuldeep Yadav gave two consecutive blows to Kolkata Knight Riders in the same over. On the second ball of the 14th over, Kuldeep showed captain Ajinkya Rahane the way to the pavilion. Rahane played an inning of 63 runs in 39 balls. After this, Rinku Singh was dismissed on the very next ball. Rinku could not even open an account. After this, the entire KKR team was reduced to 63 runs in 18.4 overs.

Delhi Capitals finished at 6th and Kolkata at 7th position.

In IPL 2026, Delhi Capitals have finished their journey at sixth position in the points table with 14 points after winning 7 matches. Whereas Kolkata Knight Riders remained at number 7 with 13 points. Now the playoff matches will start from May 26.

Batting first after losing the toss in this match against Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals scored 203 runs for 5 wickets. KL Rahul played a stormy inning of 60 runs in 30 balls with the help of 5 fours and 4 sixes. Whereas captain Akshar Patel scored 39 runs on 25 balls. David Miller (28), Sahil Parakh (24) and Abhishek Porel (22) contributed runs. Saurabh Dubey took 2 wickets for KKR. Whereas Anukul Roy, Varun Chakraborty and Sunil Narine got 1 success each.
