Some time ago, Kohli had sought clarification from the team management regarding playing in the T20 World Cup. According to the report, the team management has also given him clarification in this regard.

Kohli was not supposed to play in the T20 World Cup till a few months ago
In fact, till recently there was a lot of speculation regarding Kohli’s place in the T20 World Cup team. According to reports, when Rohit, Dravid and the selectors met after the ODI World Cup last year, Kohli’s place in the T20 team was not certain, but a lot has changed in the last few months.

Returned to T20 International after almost two years
Rohit and Kohli have not played a single T20 match from 2022 T20 World Cup to 2023 ODI World Cup. Kohli had declared himself available for the Afghanistan home series in January this year. He and Rohit have returned to T20 International for the first time in almost two years from this series. He batted at his favorite position number-3 in two matches. In this series, Yashasvi Jaiswale started the innings with Rohit. However, there may be a change in the opening players of the T20 World Cup to be held in June.

Kohli had scored 29 runs in two matches of the series played against Afghanistan in January.
