Koratala Siva drops Jr NTR starrer Devara: Part 2 MAJOR update: ‘It depends on…’

New Delhi: Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor starrer Devara: Part 1 has finally been released in theatres to positive reviews. However, if you have already watched the film and are now waiting for its sequel, we have some sad news for all the fans.

In a recent interview with TV9, the director of Devara: Part 1Koratala Siva dropped an update about the film’s second part and fans won’t be happy with it. For the unversed, Devara is a Telugu film set in the 1980s-90s and centres around a man named Devara (played by Jr NTR), who embarks on a dangerous journey to save his people.

Devara: Part 2 major update

In a recent interview with TV9, director Koratala Siva shared that he shot 25 minutes of Devara: Part 2 and he can finish filming of the sequel in six to eight months but the shoot of the film depends on Jr NTR’s availability.

Earlier, in a media interaction, Koratala shared that they started the project as one part film but after the second schedule, the entire crew believed that they couldn’t tell the story in just one part as when the director narrated the script to Jr NTR, it took him four hours and when he penned down, it became seven hours. So, the makers decided to make it into two films.

Jr NTR will have a busy second half as he has two big films in his pipeline – Hrithik Roshan starrer War 2 and Prashanth Neel’s tentatively titled Dragonwhose shoot will reportedly begin in October or November.

About Devara: Part 1

Talking about Devara: Part 1the film marked the return of Jr NTR to Telugu cinema and Janhvi’s Telugu cinema debut. In the film, Saif Ali Khan plays the role of an antagonist. As far as opening day box office numbers are concerned, Devara: Part 1is expected to earn Rs 75 crore worldwide, through just advance booking.

Early projections also suggest that the film will earn Rs 70 crore from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, earning a total of Rs 85-95 crore India nett gross. The film’s total earnings are projected at Rs 125 crore.
