This holy festival of Raksha Bandhan is celebrated with great reverence and purity all over the world on Shravan Shukla Paksha Purnima. Although the work of tying Raksha Sutra goes on throughout the day, but tying Raksha Sutra in Muhurta without Bhadra and other inauspicious yogas is beneficial.

This year, the value of full moon for fasting will start from 9.35 am on Thursday, August 11, which will continue till 7.16 am on Friday, August 12, the next day. Therefore, the value of full moon for fasting will be on 11th August and Shravani Purnima with bath donation will be on 12th August in Uday Kalik Poornima Tithi.

This year, on the full moon date, Bhadra’s residence will start from 9.35 am on 11th August and will last till 8.25 pm in the night. Due to this factor, there will be no work related to Raksha Bandhan in this period. The work of Rakshabandhan can be done during the remaining full moon period only after Bhadra ends after 8:25 pm. That is, it can be done from 8:25 in the night till 7:15 in the morning of 12 August the next day.

In this also, the auspicious time of Raksha Bandhan in auspicious Choghadiya from 12 to 1:20 pm on the night of 11th August and from 03:00 am to 7:16 am in the morning before sunrise of 12th August will give auspicious results.

According to the tradition of its branch, the Vedic Vipra who believes in Udaya Tithi will perform Shravani Upakarma on Friday, 12th August.
