Government tightened rules regarding LPG cylinder

Apart from the prices, the government has made the rules regarding delivery and booking of LPG cylinders very strict. Now LPG cylinder will not be delivered to your home without One Time Password (OTP). This new rule has been fully implemented from May 1.

Along with this, now the limit of days for booking has also been fixed. Booking of domestic cylinder can now be done only at an interval of 45 days in rural or village areas and at an interval of 25 days in cities. New bookings are not being accepted before this scheduled time. The government has made this tightening in the rules with the aim of preventing black marketing and illegal refilling of LPG.

India is taking big steps amid foreign crisis

India has been importing about 90 percent of its total LPG requirement from abroad. But in recent times, due to the almost closure of the ‘Strait of Hormuz’ due to global tension, a period of supply chain problems has started for India.

The government has geared up to deal with this international crisis. The government has already issued instructions to rapidly increase domestic LPG production. Along with this, LPG is also being imported through alternative routes and from other countries, so that the domestic demand within the country can be met without any interruption and there is no shortage situation.
