'Made in India' iPhone 16 starts selling in India

New DelhiNew Delhi: Taking advantage of aspirational India with rising private consumption in Tier 2, 3 cities and even beyond, Apple has made its 'Make in India' iPhone 16 a big hit in the country. According to business analysts on Friday, the new iPhone, which has many great features such as camera controls, a powerful 48 MP fusion lens system (two optical-quality cameras in one), the new A18 chip and better battery life, will be available with attractive financing plans and Apple is selling fast due to trade-in offers in retail stores as well as online.

Neil Shah, vice president of Counterpoint Research, told IANS that the momentum for the new iPhone 16 is really great, driven by Apple's aspirational appeal in the country. According to him, this time most Indians are buying new iPhones instead of older generation devices as purchasing power in the country has increased amid overall economic growth. Furthermore, the latest consumer research states that 6 out of 10 users in the premium segment purchase smartphones through financing plans, which has proven to be good for Apple as the trend of premiumization is on the rise.

Camera control features include a tactile switch that powers the click experience, a high-precision force sensor that enables a light pressure signal, and a capacitive sensor that allows tactile interaction.

Camera controls allow the camera to quickly launch, take a photo, and start video recording so users don't miss the moment. The new camera preview helps users frame the shot and adjust other control options – such as zoom, exposure or depth of field – to create a great photo or video by sliding their finger on the camera controls. Later this year, camera controls will unlock visual intelligence, helping users learn about objects and places faster than ever.

Additionally, iPhone 16 now takes spatial photos and videos on Apple Vision Pro to help users relive memories with remarkable depth. Videos can now be captured in spatial audio for immersive listening with AirPods, Apple Vision Pro or surround sound systems. iPhone 16 retains its value longer than any other smartphone due to its industry-leading durability, including toughened back glass, water- and dust-resistant design, regular software updates, and latest-generation ceramic with advanced formulations. Includes Shield, which is 50 percent stronger than the first generation and 2 times stronger than any other smartphone glass.

The internal design has been re-engineered to accommodate an even larger battery and allow heat to be better dissipated, making battery service easier. With iOS 18's new internal design and advanced power management, the battery has been optimized to provide a large increase in battery life. According to the company, available in a 6.1-inch display, the Super Retina XDR display with OLED technology and Dynamic Island delivers an exceptional viewing experience.

The special thing is that iPhone 16 has an action button, through which users can easily access various functions with just one press. Users can quickly access the camera, flashlight, or controls; Can switch between ring and silent; Can recognize music with Shazam; You can activate accessibility features like voice memos, focus, translate, and magnifier; Or you can use shortcuts for more options.

The new A18 chip marks a huge leap in performance and power efficiency, and is built on second-generation 3-nanometer technology to further speed up Apple Intelligence (coming to India early next year). An advanced 16-core neural engine optimized for larger generative models and runs ML models up to 2x faster than the A16 Bionic chip. According to Prabhu Ram, vice president (industry research group), CyberMedia Research (CMR), Apple is benefiting strongly from the wave of premiumization in the Indian smartphone market.
