Made in India semiconductor chips will be available this year itself: Ashwini Vaishnav Gujarati
New Delhi: Addressing the session of Advantage Assam 2.0, Minister of Railways, Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnav said that the establishment of semiconductor plant in Assam has created such an excellent ecosystem that many countries have shown interest in investing here. While unveiling plans for a new semiconductor plant, he described the Northeast as the new engine of India’s growth.
The Union Minister said that the construction of the semiconductor plant approved by the Modi government in Assam is going on at a fast pace and the availability of Made in India semiconductor chips by next year will bring pride to both India and Assam in this field. He said that many companies from Singapore, Malaysia and Japan are expected to sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and set up their offices near the semiconductor plant.
On this occasion, several major initiatives and projects were also announced with the aim of accelerating the development of railway and IT industries in the Vaishnavi region. Mentioned the commissioning of two Gati Shakti cargo terminals at Moinarband and Sinnamra in Assam. He also said that Vande Bharat Express is already operational in the North-East and soon another train will connect Guwahati-Agartala. He also informed about the approval of two Amrit Bharat trains between Guwahati-Delhi and Guwahati-Chennai, which will become operational this year.
