Who will be the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra? This question has been entangled since the election results were declared on 23 November. It was expected that the name of the CM would be announced after an important meeting held on Thursday between Maharashtra's caretaker Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis, NCP leader Ajit Pawar and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The three leaders had reached Delhi to hold an important meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. They had gathered to discuss the formation of the new government in Maharashtra. A meeting of the leaders was held yesterday, but no official announcement was made regarding the name of the next Maharashtra CM, so the suspense continues.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting with Union Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda, Eknath Shinde described the meeting as 'good and positive'. He said that there will be another meeting in which it is expected to decide who will take over the role of Chief Minister. Shinde said, 'The meeting was good and positive. This was the first meeting. We discussed with Amit Shah and JP Nadda. There will be another meeting of Mahayuti. In this meeting, a decision will be taken about who will be the Chief Minister.
He indicated that the meeting to finalize the CM will be held in Mumbai.
Earlier, Shinde had assured that there were no obstacles to the post of Chief Minister and for him 'Laadla Bhai' was a title that held more importance than anything else.
Shinde had on Wednesday said that the decision taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the CM face of the state will be accepted. He had also assured that there is no obstacle to the post of Chief Minister and for him 'Laadla Bhai' is a title which holds more importance than anything else.
Devendra Fadnavis expressed gratitude to Amit Shah
Former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis had also clarified that there were no internal differences in the Mahayuti and a decision on the Chief Minister would be taken soon after consultation with the leaders.
