On Monday night, the actress posted such a heart-wrenching video on her social media account, which has not only shocked her fans but has also shaken the entire film industry. With tears in her eyes, stammering tongue and heavy voice stuck in her throat, Manjari has made a sensational revelation of the brutal murder of ‘Mikey’, an abandoned but everyone’s favorite dog of her society. This story is not just about the death of a dog, but it crosses such limits of human cruelty that it would send shivers down anyone’s spine.
When the society’s ‘Mikey’ suddenly disappeared
Actress Manjari Phadnis lives in a quiet and beautiful housing society located in Mud Island, Mumbai. An important part of this society was ‘Mikey’, a dog whom Manjari loved like her own pet. Manjari told that last month Mikey suddenly went missing from the society. Initially Manjari and other people of the society thought that Mikey would be roaming somewhere nearby as usual and would return soon. But as soon as three to four days passed, Manjari started getting worried. They started searching for Mikey, but could not find any trace of him. As more than a week passed, Manjari started getting worried. He started searching for Mikey at his level, but no trace of him was found anywhere. After more than a week had passed, when hopes were beginning to fade away, a truth came to light that knocked the ground out from under Manjari’s feet.
Deadly attack on a voiceless person sleeping in the basement
In a tearful voice, Manjari narrated the truth of that dreadful night, which she came to know through an informer. The confession made by the informant is a slap on the face of any civilized society. According to Manjari, ‘That night, as always, Mikey was sleeping very peacefully in the basement of the society building. He was not bothering anyone. Then some people came there and suddenly attacked his head with some heavy object. Mikey got badly frightened by this sudden attack and started screaming out of fear. The cruelty did not stop here.
Those attackers dragged the bleeding Mikey from the basement to the stairs area. There he was brutally beaten until blood started flowing from his mouth and nose. He fell unconscious on the ground. When they realized that he was half dead or dead, they put him in a sack and threw him in the marshy area of the beach behind Mud Island to destroy the evidence.
‘He is no more in this world…’ Search for body continues
While talking to the media, Manjari Phadnis said in a very emotional tone, ‘At present we have no idea whether he was alive at that time or not. We are currently searching for his body in the hope that at least his last rites can be performed in a respectable manner. But looking at the circumstances, it is clear that he is no more in this world. It is very difficult for Manjari to accept that the voiceless person whom she raised as her own child for years will have such a painful and horrifying end.
Mikey and Manjari had a deep relationship since 2019.
While reminiscing about her association with Mikey, Manjari told how old and unbreakable her and Mikey’s relationship was. This happened around the year 2019-20, when the entire world was imprisoned in homes during the Corona epidemic. At the same time, Mikey came to Manjari’s society while wandering with his other canine companion ‘Charlie’. Mikey had made his place near the stairs of Manjari’s flat. Whenever Manjari came out of the house, Mikey would come near her wagging his tail. Manjari would play with him, feed him and take complete care of him. But now she is devastated by Mikey’s death.
