Mark Wood Ruled Out Of Ashes: England has suffered a big setback in the Ashes series being played between Australia and England. England’s star fast bowler Mark Wood is out of the Ashes. ECB said on Tuesday, ‘Mark Wood is out of the Ashes series due to injury. He will return home to begin the rehabilitation and recovery process. He will work closely with the ECB medical team on his recovery. Matthew Fisher has been included in the team in his place.”

Injured during Champions Trophy

Mark Wood made a comeback in the first Test of the Ashes series played in Perth after being injured during the Champions Trophy. Wood again suffered knee problems in the same Test. He could bowl only 11 overs. He was ruled out of the second Test played in Brisbane. It was believed that he could make a comeback in Adelaide or Melbourne, but now he has to be ruled out of the entire series.

Wood’s career has been affected by injury

Wood’s career has been troubled by injuries. Many times he has stayed away from international cricket for long periods due to injuries. 35-year-old Wood has admitted that his body is no longer what it used to be. The effect of age is taking its toll on him. Even bowling at a speed of 145 kmph is becoming difficult for him. If right-arm fast bowler Mark Wood is not fit for England till the T20 World Cup 2026, then his comeback will be very difficult.
