Marriage has broken…Smriti Mandhana puts brakes on speculations of marriage with Palash Muchhal
Mumbai: Indian women’s cricket team’s star opener Smriti Mandhana has been in the news these days about her personal life. For the last few weeks, the news of postponement of their marriage and rift in their relationship had created a stir on social media. Fans were continuously waiting for his official statement. Finally, after almost 12 days of silence, Smriti put an end to these speculations and said that her marriage plans have now been broken, which made it clear that there was definitely some truth in the rumours.
No mention of marriage in Instagram post
On December 5, Smriti Mandhana shared a new video on her Instagram account. There was no mention of marriage or personal life in the post, but it definitely showed that she has now returned to her professional life. The video shared was actually part of a brand promotion, but in it she spoke openly about her feelings and experiences related to the final match of the recently concluded Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.
12 year old dream finally fulfilled
In the video, Smriti told that for the last many years she had been harboring the dream of winning the World Cup. After failing for 12 consecutive years, she always wondered when India would win this big title. On 2 November 2025, when the Indian team won the World Cup trophy, Mandhana described it as the most emotional moment of her life. She said that she felt as if she had become a little girl again.
Memories of the final match
Referring to the final match, Mandhana said that while batting, she was completely focused on technique and the needs of the team. But the situation was completely different at the time of fielding. She laughingly said that while fielding, she was constantly praying and had “remembered all the Gods” for about 300 balls so that Team India could keep getting quick wickets.
The marriage was postponed due to father’s health deteriorating.
The marriage of Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal was fixed on 23 November in Sangli. But a few days before the ceremony, the situation worsened. First, Smriti’s father’s health suddenly deteriorated and he had to be admitted to the hospital. After some time, her fiance Palash Muchhal also fell ill and reached the hospital. Both the families decided to go ahead with the marriage due to health reasons. Since then, many discussions had started regarding their marriage.
