Tata Nexon vs Maruti Victoris: Who turned out to be safer? The accident revealed the truth
Nexon Vs Victoris Safety Comparison: Tata Motors in India have long been appreciated for their excellent build quality. It has been seen many times in the crash videos that people sitting in Tata cars come out without any injuries. But in the last few years, other manufacturers like Maruti Suzuki are also working seriously on the structural safety of cars. A new incident from Uttarakhand has further intensified this debate, where a head-on collision between Maruti Victoris and Tata Nexon has raised fresh questions on the safety capability of both the brands.
How did the accident happen? The video showed shocking scenes of the collision
“Dehradun Wale Official” In the video shared on Instagram, it is seen that there was a massive collision between Maruti Victoris and Tata Nexon on the hilly road of Almora. The video starts with the rear end of the Victoris, indicating that it collided with the Nexon at the turn. The camera then moves to the Nexon which looks like the old pre-facelift model.

Tata Nexon accident causes unusually high damage
Serious damage was observed on the right front side of the Tata Nexon. The bonnet was found pressed inwards, while the bumper, headlight, fender and fog lamp were completely broken. The driver’s side front wheel also appeared to be affected. This is less seen in stronger cars like Tata, because generally Nexon suffers less damage in such collision. This incident perhaps reflects the seriousness of the accident.
Maruti Victoris less damage, car is in working condition
Surprising everyone, the Maruti Victoris appeared to be less damaged in the collision. The car remained largely intact except for the bumpers, fenders and headlights, and the wheels were also not affected. Surprisingly, despite the collision, Victoris appeared to be in working condition.

What do the safety records of both SUVs say?
This older model of Tata Nexon has already achieved a 5-star rating in Global NCAP, although the test standards at that time were different from today. Despite this, Nexon is still considered a strong and safe SUV. A single accident cannot reduce its safety capability. On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki Victoris is the first SUV from the brand to get a 5-star rating in Global NCAP with 31.66/32 points in adult safety and 43/49 points in child safety. These scores reflect the tremendous improvement in Maruti’s safety policy.
It is not the strength of the panel, but the structure that determines the real safety.
Often people try to assess the strength of a car by pressing its panels, but this is a wrong method. The panel is made flexible, so that it can withstand light impacts. The real safety comes from the car’s strong structure and crash-absorption engineering, which can only be assessed through crash test ratings.
