Marvel Studios has thrilled fans by announcing the re-release of its blockbuster Avengers franchise. According to international media reports, not only will Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday hit theaters in 2026, but the 2019 iconic film Avengers: Endgame will also return to cinemas ahead of these releases.
Marvel confirmed that Avengers: Endgame will re-release on September 25, 2026, although the company has not disclosed how long the film will run in theaters. The film, which concluded Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, featured heroes like Captain America (Chris Evans), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) taking on the formidable villain Thanos.
Avengers: Endgame shattered global box office records, earning $858 million in the U.S., making it the second highest-grossing film in American history, after Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The re-release aims to reignite fan excitement ahead of the franchise’s next installment, Avengers: Doomsday, scheduled for late 2026.
This announcement comes at a time when some studios are reconsidering theatrical releases due to the rising popularity of OTT platforms. However, Disney has reaffirmed its commitment to cinema releases. Interestingly, this news was revealed just hours after Netflix confirmed its acquisition of Warner Bros.
The upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday will unite characters from the Fantastic Four, X-Men, and Thunderbolts in a single storyline. The cast includes Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, Pedro Pascal, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Patrick Stewart, and Ian McKellen.
A major highlight for fans is the return of Robert Downey Jr., who gained fame as Iron Man, now reprising a new role as Doctor Doom. Avengers: Doomsday is set to release on December 18, 2026, followed by the next installment, Avengers: Secret Wars, in December 2027.
