Many actors in the film industry come from a successful family of stars, yet it often take them years to carve out their own identity. Today, we will tell you about any actor, who hails from a filmy world, delivered several blockbusters and unforgettable performances. However, after a string of flops, he took a break from acting, revaluated his career, and eventually stage a comeback that remains unforgettable to audiences.

The actor is none other than Emraan Hashmi. While many know him as a prominent name in the industry, few are aware, that his father Syed Anwar Hashmi, who was a businessman, appeared in the in the mystery film Baharon Ki Manzil (1968).

Emraan is closely connected to Bhatt family. Acclaimed producers and filmmakers Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt are his uncles. He is the cousin of Pooja Bhatt, Alia Bhatt, Shaheen Bhatt, and Rahul Bhatt. Director Mohit Suri, with whom Emraan has collaborated in several films, is his cousin.

Before becoming an actor, Emraan was an assistant director on the sets of Raaz. He made his acting debut in 2003 with Vikram Bhatt’s Footpath (2003). The film did average at the box office. However, he was recognised with Anurag Basu’s Murder co-starring Mallika Sherawat and Ashmit Patel. The film was a super hit and did extremely well at the box office.

After the success of Murder, Emraan Hashmi, rose to stardom, delivering several blockbuster films Gangster, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, Murder 2′, The Dirty Picture, and Jannatamong others. However, there came a period in life when he distanced himself from acting. He saw a downfall, with 15 of his films turning into major box office flops. Rather being disheartened, he took this setback as a challenge and stepped away from the filmy world to revaluate his career. Later, he returned to big screen with Maneesh Sharma’s Tiger 3 alongside Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. The film did impressively well and his performance received appreciation from the audience.

Talking about his personal life, Emraan Hashmi married Parveen Shahani in an Islamic wedding in December 2006 after a six and a half-year relationship. The couple have a son Ayaan Hashmi, who was diagnosed with first-stage cancer at a young age. However, in 2019, five years later, Emraan announced that Ayaan had successfully overcome cancer and was now cancer-free

Emraan  is soon going to make his Telugu debut with Sujeeth’s They Call Him OGco-starring Pawan Kalyan and Priyanka Arul Mohan.
