Meet actress who became actor despite her family’s wishes, became single mother at 45, gave one of India’s highest grossing film, not Ramya Krishnan

She started preparing to become an IAS official after graduating from Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi. From television, the actor ascended to stardom in one of Bollywod’s highest grossing films.

She has been dominating the TV industry for the last 23 years and even gave Bollywood its biggest smash hit. The actor starred alongside Aamir Khan in ‘Dangal.’ The 2016 sports drama broke numerous box office records. The 51-year-old actor adopted a girl to bring her up all by herself. The actor we’re talking about today is none other than Sakshi Tanwar. She took up the nine-month-old Dityaa Tanwar back in 2018.

Sakshi is retired CBI officer Rajendra Singh Tanwar’s daughter. She graduated with honours from Delhi University’s Lady Shri Ram College. She has also had a brief internship at a five-star hotel as a sales trainee. The renowned actor once said in interviews that she originally intended to become an IAS officer, but acting ended up being her destiny.

Sakshi Tanwar made her television debut in 1998 in the series ‘Albela Sur Mela,’ but it was her portrayal of Parvati Agarwal in Ekta Kapoor’s hit drama ‘Where is the story? in 2000 that gave her her big break. Sakshi Tanwar became widely known because of this TV series. She gained popularity once more between 2011 and 2014 when she portrayed Priya Kapoor in ‘Bad things look good,’ starring Ram Kapoor.

Did you know Sakshi Tanwar is one of India’s highest-paid television actors? She made her name for herself in television before branching out into movies and over-the-top content, where she also made records. With almost Rs 2000 crore in worldwide revenue, her film ‘Dangal,’ in which she portrayed Aamir Khan’s wife, is the highest-grossing Indian film to date.
