There is no dearth of talent in India as several Indian-born people are heading world’s major tech giants including Sundar Pichai and Satya Nadella, the CEOs of Google and Microsoft, respectively. Another prominent name which might not be in the same spotlight as Pichai and Nadella, but is considered a powerful force in the IT-sector is Salil Parekhthe CEO and Managing Director of Infosys, who earns a mind-boggling daily salary of Rs 18 lakh for his services.

Salil Parekh currently serves at the CEO and Managing Director of Infosys. According to several reports, Parekh is India’s second highest-paid CEO in the IT-sector.

Parekh recently hogged the headlines in the business world for his compensation deal in which he received a massive Rs 66.25 crore in salary from Infosys.

Salil Parekh, the second highest-paid CEO in India’s IT sector, receives a daily salary of Rs 18 lakh, and received a whopping Rs 66.25 crore in salary for the financial year 2023-24. In terms of salary, Parekh is second only to former Wipro CEO Thierry Delaporte, who is the highest-paid CEO in the Indian IT sector with an annual salary of around Rs 166 crore this fiscal year.

According to reports, Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) make up the majority of Parekh’s total compensation, amounting to Rs 39.03 crore of his overall income for the FY2024. On top of the income received from RSUs, Salil Parekh got his annual salary of Rs 7 crore, retirement benefits of Rs 47 lakh, and an additional bonus of Rs 7.47 crore in this financial year, they said.

In FY23 and FY22, Salil Parekh had received Rs 56 crore and Rs 71 crore in earning, respectively.

Salil Parekh has a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from IIT Bombay and a Masters degree in Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering from the prestigious Cornell University.

Before joining Infosys, Parekh worked at Capgemini for the better part of almost 30 years, and had risen to become a member of the company’s group executive board and later its deputy CEO in March 2015.
