He has also given the reason for leaving the post.

Mohammad Yusuf has announced his resignation on social media site X (formerly Twitter). He wrote- “I announce my resignation as selector of Pakistan cricket team due to personal reasons. It has been a huge honor to serve this incredible team, and I am proud to have contributed to the growth and success of Pakistan cricket. I have full confidence in the talent and spirit of our players and I wish our team all the best as they continue to strive for greatness.”

Pakistan Cricket Board issued a statement after the resignation of Mohammad Yusuf. Pakistan Cricket Board said in a statement that Mohammad Yousuf has resigned from the post of selector of Pakistan Men's Cricket Team. Also, Pakistan Cricket Board has thanked Mohammad Yusuf for his contribution.

It may be noted that Yusuf has also worked as the batting coach of the national team in the last two years. He has also been the head coach of Pakistan Under-19 team. In such a situation, now he is going to pursue his coaching career. However, many people are also linking Yousuf's resignation to the ongoing turmoil in the Pakistan cricket team.

After which questions were also raised on the team selection committee.
