Monsoon Alert – Heavy Rain Warning for 10+ States Within 24 Hours, State – Wise Weather Forecast

monsoon alert: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated in its latest bulletin that the Southwest Monsoon has advanced today, June 9, 2026, into the remaining parts of Northeast India, the whole of Sikkim, and further areas of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. Its next progression will be towards eastern Bihar and West Bengal. According to the IMD, conditions are favorable for the monsoon’s arrival in Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal; the monsoon could enter these regions within the next 48 hours.

The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall at isolated places across Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Northeast India, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal over the next 5–7 days. Additionally, light to moderate rainfall is expected in parts of Northwest India on June 11 and 12, 2026, accompanied by a possibility of hailstorms.

Which states will receive rainfall?
Given the monsoon’s pace, the IMD has predicted heavy rainfall in several Northeastern and Southern states between June 9 and June 15. Rainy conditions are likely to persist in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura until June 15. Rainfall is also expected in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands during this period.

Rainfall in Delhi
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms in Delhi on June 10 and 11. Strong winds at 60–65 km/h are likely during this time. On June 10, the maximum temperature is 42°C and the minimum is 28°C. Residents of Delhi may find some relief if it rains.

The Meteorological Department has issued warnings for heavy rain and thunderstorms in Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Agra, Mathura, Azamgarh, Mainpuri, Kanpur, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, and Prayagraj.

Weather in Bihar
An alert has been issued for heavy rain in Patna, Gaya, Buxar, Siwan, Gopalganj, Bhojpur, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Purnia, Khagaria, Bhagalpur, Munger, and Begusarai in Bihar over the next two days.

Alerts for heavy rain and thunderstorms have been issued for several districts in Rajasthan until June 13. Warnings have been issued for Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Bundi, Bikaner, Ajmer, Sikar, and Udaipur.

Weather in Punjab
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms in Punjab until June 14. Heavy rain is likely in Ludhiana, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Patiala, Jalandhar, Bathinda, and Faridkot during this period. Strong winds may accompany the rain, providing relief from the heat.

Rain in Himachal Pradesh
The Meteorological Department has stated that heavy rain and thunderstorms are likely tomorrow, June 10. Warnings have been issued for Mandi, Kangra, Kinnaur, Kullu, Chamba, and Bilaspur.

The IMD has predicted rainfall in Uttar Pradesh and Eastern Rajasthan between June 9 and June 15. Additionally, warnings for light to moderate rain have been issued for Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab for the next four days. Rainfall is also expected in Western Rajasthan between June 11 and June 15.

Heatwave Conditions
The Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave warning for parts of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh until June 11. The Meteorological Department has stated that the sky over Delhi is likely to remain partly cloudy for the next two days, with the maximum temperature expected to range between 42°C and 44°C. The weather may change on the evening of June 11, potentially bringing light rain.
