More than 14 lakh children will be given medicine under the Pulse Polio campaign in Punjab. Health and Family Welfare Minister Chetan Singh Jaudamajra said here today that the Health Department is fully prepared to launch the Pulse Polio campaign. 11,865 teams have been formed for this campaign. This campaign will be organized from tomorrow to 20th September in which more than fourteen lakh children up to five years of age will be given polio vaccine drops.

Jaudmajra said that this campaign will be launched in twelve districts of Amritsar, Bathinda, Faridkot, Fatehgarh Sahib, Fazilka, Mansa, Moga, Muktsar Sahib, S. B. s. Nagar, Pathankot, Patiala and Tarn Taran.

Booth activities will be held in twelve districts on 18th September and door to door feeding on 19th and 20th September during which Below Poverty Line families present in factories, brick kilns, jhuggi-jhopris, bus stands, under construction places and railway stations will be And in high risk areas also special attention will be given under this campaign.

He said that even though India was declared polio free by the World Health Organization on March 27, 2014, there is a danger of spreading polio virus from neighboring countries, where cases of the disease are still being reported. It is very important to effectively implement the Pulse Polio Vaccination program to protect our future generations from this disease.
