CM Chandrashekhar Rao will boycott the meeting of NITI Aayog

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Saturday told Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he would boycott the 7th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog to be held on August 7. In a letter to PM Modi, KCR said that India can develop as a strong nation only when the states are developed. Only strong and economically strong states can make India a strong country.

KCR has said that in view of the current facts, I do not find it useful to attend the 7th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog to be held on 7th August. I will stay away from this meeting in protest against the current trend of the Central Government. KCR also alleged that the central government was discriminating against the states.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that he will take up several issues, including legal guarantee of Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops and agricultural loans, at the NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting in Delhi on Sunday. Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, Mann reprimanded his predecessors Charanjit Singh Channi and Amarinder Singh for not attending such meetings.

Bhagwant Mann said that I am going to attend the meeting of NITI Aayog. I have done my homework on Punjab issues. These issues will be taken up in the meeting. After three years, a representative of Punjab is going to attend the meeting of NITI Aayog. I will also raise issues related to water, farmers’ loan, legal guarantee of MSP, canal system, cleaning of ‘Buddha Nala’ (in Ludhiana), Bhakra Beas Management Board and health issues. It is known that Prime Minister Modi will chair the 7th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog.
