Congress leaders found confused in Hindutva meditation camp, find out what the leaders said about temple visits

There has been confusion in the Congress over politics on the issue of Hindutva and this was evident in the party’s three-day meditation camp here. Many party leaders in the camp supported politics on the issue of Hindutva, while some vehemently opposed it.

The issue came up during a meeting of the political committee on the second day of the Chintan Shivir, Congress sources said. At the meeting, some Kerala leaders said that former party president Rahul Gandhi should not visit temples during elections as his negative message goes to the voters and then it is propagated that the Congress leadership should visit temples only during elections. The issue was hotly debated among the delegates present at the meeting.

Bhupesh Baghel said- all leaders should go to temple-mosque

Sources said that while the issue was being discussed among the members, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel opposed it and said that not only Gandhi but also Congress president Sonia Gandhi should visit religious places during the elections. He said Congress leaders should visit temples, mosques, gurdwaras and churches. This will not give the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) a chance to attack the Congress in the name of religion.

After the meditation camp, Rahul will visit the Tripurasundari temple

Bhupesh Baghel said that if the top leaders of the Congress do not go to religious places, the BJP will propagate that they have nothing to do with religion and places of worship and if that happens, it will directly benefit the BJP during the elections. Party sources also said that Gandhi would visit the famous Tripurasundari temple in Banswara, Rajasthan, the day after the conclusion of the Chintan Shivir. This is a very famous temple of Rajasthan and former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia visits this temple every time before contesting elections.

Demand to hand over the bow to Priyanka

Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit four temples on Monday. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Congress general secretary in charge of Uttar Pradesh, also spoke at the Chintan Shibir and said that the party should go out among the masses aggressively and expose the shortcomings of the BJP government. Later, Uttar Pradesh Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishna also told some reporters at the media center that Priyanka Gandhi should hand over the reins of Congress to Vadra.
