Manik Saha appointed as new CM of Tripura, took oath of office at Raj Bhavan in Agartala
BJP leader Manik Saha has taken oath as the Chief Minister of Tripura. State party chief Manik Saha was appointed as the next chief minister of the state after Biplab Kumar Deb resigned on Saturday. Saha’s swearing-in ceremony took place at Raj Bhavan, Agartala.
Dr. Saha is a Rajya Sabha MP and the head of the party in the state. Dr. Saha, a professor of dental surgery, will be expected to lead the party to victory in the assembly elections in the northeastern state amid a multi-cornered contest.
Elections are to be held in Tripura in March next year. Trinamool Congress is also trying to emerge as a major party here.
Saha left the Congress and joined the BJP in 2016. He was made the party chief in 2020 and was elected to the Rajya Sabha in March this year.
