Raj Thackeray’s support harmful for BJP: Athawale

Sangli (Maharashtra): Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) should not forge an alliance with Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray as it could potentially be harmful to the BJP.
Mr Athawale clarified at a press conference on Saturday that an alliance with Mr Thackeray would probably be detrimental to the BJP. After Mr. Thackeray continuously attacked the people of Uttar Pradesh, the people of Uttar Pradesh opposed his visit to Ayodhya, so Mr. Raj Thackeray should apologize to the people of Uttar Pradesh for his insult.
Shri Athawale said that when no Brahmin (priest) had come to Maharashtra for the coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, at that time Gaga Bhatt of Kashi, Uttar Pradesh had come to help Chhatrapati Shivaji and in this background the people of Uttar Pradesh To oppose is to oppose the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Therefore, there is an appeal to the BJP not to take such a controversial leader along.
On the increase in the prices of domestic gas cylinders, Mr. Athawale said that all essential commodities are increasing rapidly but will come under control soon. It is not that poor people stopped taking gas cylinders under the Ujjwala scheme. BJP leader, the central government has done a lot of work for the welfare of downtrodden and poor people along with implementing many schemes for these people. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari did more in a few years than what Congress could not do in the last 70 years in road construction.
