Stuck in jam for hours, drenched in rain… Children harassed for making world record, NCPCR said – take action

New Delhi

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has demanded action from the Chief Secretary of Delhi on 3 August to set a world record for setting a world record by making a tricolor with a human chain of 52 thousand school children. Report requested. The NCPCR took this disorder seriously and said that the video shows that children have been greatly disturbed in this program. The actual program of the Delhi government, which was on Thursday, August 4, was postponed early in the morning saying that the Burari ground was flooded. But some teachers said that this decision was taken very late, many students had reached the school.

Event postponed due to water filling
It was tweeted on August 4 at 5:36 am, “On the occasion of 75th anniversary of independence, the children of Delhi were going to make the biggest tricolor today, but this program is being postponed for the time being due to rain water filling in Burari Maidan. Yesterday our children had a wonderful rehearsal for it too. He has also shared the photo of the rehearsal.

The rehearsal of this event was on 3 August at Burari Ground. Teachers allege that thousands of these children were taken to Burari Maidan in about a thousand buses, due to which there was a huge jam, the children were stuck in the jam for hours. After that they got drenched in heavy rain. The rehearsals of many students who came out of their homes since morning could not be done, many could not reach. There were also complaints of parking disorder.

Manoj Tiwari also complained
NCPCR received two complaints regarding this matter, including that of BJP MP Manoj Tiwari. NCPCR Chairperson Priyank Kanungo in a letter to Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar has said that the MP has informed that thousands of school children were called on the appeal of the Chief Minister of Delhi to Burari Ground to make the biggest tricolor. Children were harassed due to negligence. It can be seen in the video that the children were left to get wet in the rain, which can be dangerous for their health. The event was canceled without any prior information. NCPCR has sent this complaint and video to the Chief Secretary and asked him to take action.

‘Children’s lives put at risk’
MP Manoj Tiwari, in his complaint to NCPCR, has said that the Chief Minister not only made innocent children do physical labor for making a world record and for his fame, but also put their lives at risk. The officials of the education department also gave him full support. He alleged that crores of rupees were wasted like water to promote the entire program loudly, but no arrangements were made for the safety of the children and protection from the weather conditions.
