NEET-UG 2026: Refund process started, last date to update bank details 27 May

New Delhi, 23 May. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on May 3, has been canceled after complaints of paper leak. Now NTA has started the refund facility for the candidates who appeared in the examination. Students can submit their bank account details through the official website for refund of examination fee.

As per the official notification, the refund option has been made available on the NEET-UG 2026 registration portal. Candidates registered for the examination can log in using their application credentials and visit the dedicated refund link to complete the refund process.

To receive the refund, applicants need to provide necessary banking details including account holder name, bank name, account number and IFSC code. Candidates also have the option to upload a scanned copy of the canceled check to ensure the accuracy of the information submitted.

NTA has clarified that once the bank details are submitted, they will be considered final and no subsequent corrections or amendments will be allowed. Candidates are advised to verify all the information carefully before submission. The last date to submit bank details for refund is 27th May till 11.50 pm.

It is noteworthy that NEET was conducted on May 3 for admission to undergraduate medical courses across India. However, the exam was later canceled after reports emerged that some persons had allegedly obtained the question paper before the exam and distributed it to the candidates in exchange for money. The investigating agencies have so far arrested 11 people in this case. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is investigating this case.

The canceled exam is to be conducted again on June 21.

After the cancellation of the exam, NTA has announced that NEET-UG 2026 will now be conducted again on June 21. The examination will be held from 2.00 pm to 5.15 pm, including the time allotted for examination formalities. Candidates are advised to visit the official website of NTA regularly for updates related to refund process and re-examination schedule.
