Banned products at airports: Authorities have issued instructions regarding the list of items prohibited in check-in or cabin baggage during air travel between India and UAE. Passengers are advised to follow the instructions given by the airport, customs and civil aviation authorities. Some of the items that are allowed in checked baggage may not be allowed in cabin baggage. Some of the items prohibited in baggage are:

These products cannot be carried in bags

Ghee: Ghee and butter cannot be carried in cabin luggage as they fall under the category of liquids. They are considered aerosols and gels and no more than 100 ml of ghee is allowed. However, passengers can carry up to five kg of ghee in check-in baggage. But, it is important to read and understand the instructions of airline companies and airports as some of them do not allow ghee in baggage. Pickles: Except chilli pickles, other pickles can be carried in both check-in and cabin baggage. Chilli pickle is not allowed in cabin baggage.

Copra: The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) of the Indian Civil Aviation has included copra or desiccated coconut in the list of banned items in March 2022. Passengers cannot carry copra in their check-in baggage.

and cigarettes: E-cigarettes are neither permitted in check-in baggage nor in cabin baggage.

Spices: Whole spices or spice powders cannot be carried in cabin luggage. However, these are allowed to be carried in check in baggage as per BCAS instructions.
