NVIDIA’s Monster RTX 5090 & 5080 Leak: 32GB GDDR7 Memory and 600W Power!

The tech world is buzzing as one of NVIDIA’s most reliable insiders, known as Kopite7kimihas spilled the beans on the upcoming RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 graphics cards. If these leaks are anything to go by, NVIDIA is gearing up to deliver some jaw-dropping performance with its next-generation GPUs.

RTX 5090:

The RTX 5090 is shaping up to be a real powerhouse. Rumor has it that it will feature a 512-bit memory bus, contrary to earlier reports of a 448-bit bus. This GPU is expected to come packed with 32GB of ultra-fast GDDR7 memory, setting a new standard for gaming and professional graphics work.

Under the hood, the RTX 5090 is said to utilize the GB202-300 GPU, boasting 21,760 CUDA cores. While this is slightly fewer than the full chip’s 24,576 cores, it’s still a significant jump from the current generation. The card is rumored to have a power consumption of 600W, up from the RTX 4090’s 450W.

Despite this hefty power draw, whispers suggest that NVIDIA plans to keep the Founders Edition of the RTX 5090 to a 2-slot design. This has led to speculation that NVIDIA might employ an innovative cooling solution, possibly even liquid cooling, to keep temperatures in check.

RTX 5080:

Not to be overshadowed, the RTX 5080 is also making headlines. It’s expected to feature the GB203-400 GPU with 10,752 CUDA cores. This card might come with 16GB of GDDR7 memory on a 256-bit bus, offering a balance between performance and efficiency. The power consumption is rumored to be around 400W, which is higher than the RTX 4080’s 320W but justified by the performance gains.

Interestingly, the GB203 GPU seems to be half of the GB202 in terms of specs, including the memory bus width. This has led some to speculate that a future RTX 5080 SUPER variant could use the GB202 GPU with a wider bus and more memory.

Possible Release and Pricing

While NVIDIA hasn’t confirmed any details yet, many believe that the RTX 50 series could be announced later this year. It’s been two years since the RTX 4090 and 4080 were unveiled, so an update seems due.

As for pricing, there’s no official word. However, considering the RTX 4090 launched at $1,599 (approximately ₹132,852), the RTX 5090 could be even pricier. With the exchange rate at 1 US dollar equals 83.03 Indian Rupees, start saving if you’re eyeing this beast!

What This Means for Gamers and Creators

If these specs hold true, the RTX 5090 and 5080 could revolutionize gaming and content creation. Faster memory speeds, more cores, and higher bandwidth mean smoother gameplay at higher resolutions and faster rendering times for creators.

As with all leaks, it’s wise to take this information with a grain of salt until NVIDIA makes an official announcement. However, if these rumors are accurate, we’re in for some exciting times ahead in the world of graphics technology.
