Nishant Kumar did not complete engineering studies, election affidavit reveals

A big revelation has been made regarding the educational qualifications of Nishant Kumar, son of Bihar Chief Minister and JDU President Nitish Kumar. Filed nomination for Bihar Legislative Council (MLC) elections as a national candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party in Bihar Legislative Council.

Now Rashtriya Janata Dal has cornered Nishant Kumar on this revelation. According to Nishant’s affidavit, he has not been able to complete his engineering studies. It has been told in the affidavit that he had passed the 12th examination from Patna Science College in the year 1998. After this he enrolled in Bachelor of Engineering course at Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, Ranchi.

However, Nishant Kumar did not complete the course. According to the affidavit, he completed only five of the eight semesters required for the engineering course and dropped out in 2001.

After filing his nomination, Nishant Kumar said that he will try to live up to the trust reposed in him.

He said, ‘I will try to live up to people’s expectations. I will discharge the responsibility assigned to me with full honesty and dedication and will work towards realizing my father Nitish Kumar’s dream of a developed and prosperous Bihar.

Unlike his son, Nitish Kumar had completed his engineering studies. The Chief Minister of Bihar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Bihar College of Engineering (now known as NIT Patna). He obtained this degree in the year 1972 and after this he entered public life and started his long journey in politics, in which he became the Chief Minister of Bihar several times.

Nishant Kumar had joined the Samrat Choudhary ministry as health minister in May after Nitish Kumar decided to leave state politics and go to the Rajya Sabha.
