Why are vegetables becoming expensive?

Vegetable wholesalers say that traffic has been affected due to heavy rains. Apart from this, the yield has also been affected due to heavy rains. Vegetables are arriving late in metros due to which their prices are skyrocketing. Low productivity is also a reason. This year there has been heavy rain in Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and other states. Due to this the prices of vegetables have increased.
