Quetta Railway Blast: A huge explosion occurred near the railway track in Quetta, Pakistan, in which 23 people died and 47 were injured. The explosion was so powerful that panic spread in the area. The injured have been admitted to hospitals and emergency has been declared in government hospitals. A train derailed due to the explosion. According to reports, the train was going towards Quetta Cantonment area when the blast occurred. After the blast, the sound of bullets was heard in the area, due to which fear spread among the people.

Balochi government official Babar Yousafzai said that police, security forces and rescue teams immediately reached the spot. Police are investigating the reasons for the blast. No organization has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. Balochistan is an important region of Pakistan, which has been troubled by violence and separatist activities for a long time. Here many organizations are fighting against the Pakistani government and demanding the independence of Balochistan.

Three coaches of a train derailed

Railway officials said that a shuttle train coming from Quetta Cantt was targeted near Chaman Gate. In the blast, three coaches including the engine derailed and two coaches overturned. Ten vehicles parked in the parking lot were also damaged. The explosion was so powerful that glass and windows of nearby buildings were broken. The entire area has been surrounded and rescue work is going on. After the incident, Peshawar-bound Jafar Express was stopped at Quetta railway station as a precautionary measure.

Railway Minister condemned the attack

Pakistan Railway Minister Mohammad Hanif Abbasi strongly condemned the attack. He called it a cowardly terrorist attack and said that such attacks cannot weaken Pakistan’s resolve against terrorism. Abbasi said rescue trucks and a relief train were sent to the spot to rescue the stranded passengers. The Railway Minister has asked for a report on the incident from the officials. He said that despite the attack, Pakistan Railways will continue to run and there will be no interruption in train service.
