Patna Civil Court grants relief to Khan Sir, stays arrest

A group of 15 to 20 people vandalized the Khan Global Studies Institute.

Patna. A Patna court on Tuesday stayed the arrest of Faisal Khan alias ‘Khan Sir’, who runs Khan Global Studies, till further orders. His lawyer gave this information. Faisal Khan’s name is mentioned in an FIR, which is related to the firing incident that took place a week ago, in which his security personnel have been accused of opening fire. The incident took place when some anti-social elements vandalized Khan’s coaching institute.

Khan sir’s lawyer Arvind Kumar Mauar told reporters in Patna, the court has stayed his arrest till further orders and directed to submit the case diary and background at the next hearing. Faisal Khan had filed a petition for anticipatory bail on Monday.

Mauar said, all the facts have been placed before the court in accordance with the law. The court is expected to pass the final order after examining the case diary. He said that the date of the next hearing has not been decided yet. Mauar said the court has also asked to submit the case diary and background regarding the two security personnel who were detained by the police on Thursday.

The hearing of his case is scheduled for tomorrow, he said. The hearing will take place after the case diary is presented before the court. According to the lawyer, Faisal Khan has been granted protection from any kind of punitive action and he will answer all the questions asked by the investigating officers.

On Tuesday night, a group of 15-20 people vandalized the Khan Institute of Global Studies in the state capital Patna and pelted stones on the campus. The police had detained two security personnel associated with Khan sir’s coaching institute for the firing.
