first reaction after breakup

Mandhana had issued a statement on December 7, in which she requested fans to maintain privacy. She had said that she was going through a very personal and sensitive phase of her life, so she needed peace. The statement came amid ongoing speculation about the wedding, which was considered to be one of the most high-profile celebrity weddings of 2025.

from engagement to marriage

Earlier this year, the engagement of both of them took place in a very romantic style. Palash Muchhal surprised everyone by proposing to Mandhana at DY Patil Stadium. The same ground where the Indian women’s team won the World Cup final. The wedding was scheduled for 23 November 2025 in Sangli. But on the morning of the wedding the situation suddenly changed. Mandhana’s father had to be admitted to the hospital due to a medical emergency.

Then after some time Palash Muchhal also reached the hospital due to stress and fatigue. The family was upset from both sides, and in such an environment it was decided to postpone the marriage ceremony indefinitely.

Rumors on Muchhal, family denies

After the cancellation of the marriage, alleged rumors started circulating on social media. Some users made serious allegations against Muchhal like infidelity. Muchhal’s family described these claims as completely false and harmful. After this, Palash Muchhal also issued a statement, in which he said that he has moved ahead and legal action will be taken against those posting any kind of false, derogatory material against him.

Smriti’s focus again on cricket

After the news of her broken relationship surfaced, Mandhana shared a post on social media, in which she was seen returning to training. This was an indication that she was regaining her composure amid personal turmoil and focusing on cricket again.

Her teammate Jemimah Rodrigues also supported Mandhana and withdrew her name from the Women’s Big Bash League and decided to stay with her in India. This step was seen as a big support for Mandhana by the fans.

Wedding photos missing from social media

In an effort to normalize the situation, Mandhana, Muchhal and many Indian players who attended the wedding started deleting wedding-related photos from their respective social media accounts. Both sides are maintaining silence at present.
