PM Modi expresses grief over Goa Blast incident, announces relief for families of deceased
New Delhi: A gas cylinder explosion at a Famous Nightclub in Goa late last night caused chaos. A lifetime of joy was instantly transformed into mourning. According to the latest reports, 25 people have been burnt to death so far. Several others are reported injured and hospitalised. President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have expressed grief over the tragic incident.
The central government has announced relief funds for the families of the deceased and the injured. An ex gratia of ₹2 lakh each will be provided from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund, and ₹50,000 to the injured. The incident occurred due to a cylinder explosion in the kitchen.

PM Modi Expresses Grief
PM Narendra Modi expressed condolences to the families of the deceased over the Goa incident. He wrote, “The fire accident in Arpora, Goa, is extremely tragic. My condolences to all those who lost their loved ones. May the injured recover as soon as possible. I have spoken to the Goa Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawan, about the situation.

The state government is providing all possible assistance to the affected people. Following the Goa Club accident, PM Modi also announced relief funds. He announced an ex gratia of ₹ 2 lakh each from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund. He also announced compensation of ₹50,000 for the injured.
President Expresses Condolences
President Draupadi Murmu tweeted her condolences on the tragic incident in Goa. She wrote, “I am deeply saddened by the tragic fire incident in North Goa district, which claimed the lives of so many people. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. May God give them strength during this difficult time. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
Fire Controlled After Voracious Efforts
As soon as the cylinder exploded in the nightclub, people ran out screaming. Locals immediately informed the police. Police and fire brigade teams arrived at the scene and, after much effort, rescued some of the trapped people. Goa Director General of Police Alok Kumar said that a call was received at the control room at 12:04 pm, and police, fire unit and ambulance immediately reached the spot.
