Police Sub Inspector shot dead in Amritsar, surrounded and killed by miscreants while going for duty

A big news is coming out from Punjab early in the morning. An ASI i.e. Assistant Sub-Inspector of Punjab Police was shot by the attackers while going for duty. He died on the spot. The policeman has been identified as Joga Singh. Police has reached the spot. The investigation of the case has started. The incident took place in Majitha of Amritsar.

Injured by bullet, died within a short time

ASI Joga Singh was going for duty early in the morning and during this time some unknown assailants surrounded him and started firing indiscriminately. During this, Joga got hit by two bullets. Joga was seriously injured due to the bullet and died on the spot within a short time. A crowd gathered at the spot. People informed the police and ambulance about the incident.

Early morning, information was received regarding the body of an ASI-rank police official found on Fatehgarh Churian–Majitha Road. SHO Majitha and SSP Sahib reached the spot and initiated the investigation. The matter is being probed from all angles. (2/2)

Police reached the spot, investigation started

As soon as information about the incident was received, senior police officers reached the spot. The police force cordoned off the entire area. The police collected evidence from around the incident site and the footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby is also being scrutinized so that the attackers can be identified. However, no concrete information has been received yet about the attackers. Police officials say that the matter is under investigation. The accused will be arrested soon.

ASI Joga Singh was a resident of Gurdaspur.

ASI Joga Singh was posted in the traffic department of Punjab Police. He was a resident of Ghania village in Bangar, Gurdaspur. He was going to Amritsar for duty on his scooter at around six in the morning. About a kilometer before Majitha, two unknown assailants on a bike surrounded his scooter on the way. One bullet hit Joga on the left side of his chest and the other on his waist. ASI has been seriously injured due to this. Since it was early in the morning, he could not get help and he died in agony on the way.

Amritsar SSP Sohail Mir said that information was received in the morning that the body of ASI Joga Singh has been found. SHO Majitha immediately reached the spot. When the dead body was checked, bullet marks were found. The body was immediately taken to the civil hospital. Forensic and technical team reached the spot and conducted investigation there. I am also at the spot.
