Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the AI summit today, more than 500 AI leaders will participate
Tezzbuzz Desk- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will formally inaugurate the ‘India AI Impact Summit 2026’ organized at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi today. At approximately 9:40 a.m. he will open the conference and deliver the inaugural address. Important topics like the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI), policy framework and international cooperation will be discussed on this global platform.
Electronics and IT Secretary S. According to Krishnan, the AI Impact Summit on Thursday will be closed to the general public and only invitation card holders will get entry. However, the government has extended the duration of the program by one day to ensure participation of the common people. Now on February 21, AI Expo will be open to the public from 8 am to 8 pm. Earlier this summit was to end on 20 February.
The President of France will also address the inaugural session. Apart from this, Presidents and Prime Ministers of more than a dozen countries are participating in this summit. In the evening, Prime Minister Modi will participate in a roundtable meeting with CEOs of global companies, where issues like AI investment, innovation and regulatory cooperation will be discussed.
Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday afternoon on a five-day (18–22 February) visit to India. Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Pabitra Margherita welcomed him at the airport. Lula is also accompanied by a delegation of about 14 ministers and top CEOs of major Brazilian companies.
After reaching Delhi, Lula wrote in his social media message, “Hello, India! I come with an urgent agenda—to strengthen ties, deepen partnerships and discuss the future of AI in the world.” He reiterated the commitment to enhance innovation and cooperation between the two countries.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, President Lula will also attend the AI Summit as well as hold a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Modi. Draupadi Murmu is likely to host a banquet in his honour. Vice President CP Radhakrishnan and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar are also likely to meet him.
This is President Lula’s sixth visit to India. Earlier he had come to India for the G-20 summit in September 2023. After the India tour, he will visit South Korea.
The India AI Impact Summit 2026 is seen as a symbol of India’s technological leadership potential and its growing role in the global AI discourse.
