In this sequence, after new cases of cyber fraud have come to light in Ludhiana, Punjab, the police has advised people to be alert. Thugs are now stealing money from people’s bank accounts by sending fake links in the name of ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ on social media and WhatsApp.
Phone is getting hacked as soon as you click on the link
According to Ludhiana Police, cyber criminals are sending a message to people, which reads ‘Click on the link given below to join Cockroach Janata Party.’ Police say it is a phishing link. As soon as a person clicks on this link, his mobile phone can be hacked. After this the fraudsters steal bank details and personal information and withdraw money from the account.
Police cautioned people
Police officer Amarinder Singh said that cyber thugs are constantly trying to trap people by adopting new methods. He has appealed to the people not to click on any unknown link. He told that fraudsters can also take loans in people’s names and empty bank accounts.
Awareness video released on social media
Ludhiana Police has also released a special video on social media to make people aware. The video explains how a small mistake can cause huge financial loss. Police have said that if any person becomes a victim of such cyber fraud, then immediately complain on the national cyber helpline number 1930. Along with this, people have been appealed to inform the police about any suspicious link or message.
