Rajbhar’s claim on 17 seats in 2022 is strong, understand the whole equation

Bharatiya Suheldev Samaj Party (Subhashpa) is slowly but surely becoming an important link in the politics of Uttar Pradesh. The party chief is constantly at the center of state politics due to his statements and political statements. These days, party chief Om Prakash Rajbhar is doing politics on two fronts. On the one hand, he is daily attacking the main opposition party Samajwadi Party and its President Akhilesh Yadav, while on the other hand, he is roaming around in the districts holding meetings of the party organization.

In these meetings of SubhaSP, OP Rajbhar is giving necessary instructions to the party workers. He is talking about strengthening the organization of the party, so that not a single vote is lost in the upcoming assembly elections. Besides, Rajbhar is also including leaders from these communities in the party to woo Muslim and Dalit voters.

Strategy to help SP-BJP?

In the Yogi government, Cabinet Minister OP Rajbhar is also working on a strategy to woo both Samajwadi Party and BJP with these two moves. In fact, after seeing his statements and steps so far, it seems that he will fight the upcoming elections with BJP only. But if the political equation worsens, he can also contest elections in alliance with SP.

Leaning towards where the seats and posts are

After looking at the previous steps of Subhashpa, it seems that Rajbhar did not contest the elections with any one alliance, rather Rajbhar joined whichever alliance got more seats and posts. In such a situation, to strengthen his position in the state politics, OP Rajbhar wants to contest elections on as many seats as possible by being in any alliance. For this he is also working on the ground. He is strengthening his claim.

Rajbhar’s claim on 17 seats

Now less than a year is left for the UP assembly elections. Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party is in the news. Om Prakash Rajbhar had contested the elections in 2022 in alliance with Samajwadi Party. His party got 18 seats. The election symbol on one of these seats was of SP, while in total out of 17 seats, Rajbhar’s party had shown strength and won six seats. At the same time, SubhSP stood second in Misrikh and Dhangata assembly seats.

This is the reason why OP Rajbhar is strengthening his party’s claim on these 17 seats. Before the elections, political discussions have already started regarding whether OP Rajbhar will contest on the same 17 seats in the NDA alliance or will stake claim on more seats.

What was the situation in 2022?

In alliance with Samajwadi Party, OP Rajbhar had contested the elections from his traditional seat Zahoorabad in Ghazipur and won with a huge vote. He got 1,14,860 votes in Zahoorabad while BJP candidate Kalicharan Rajbhar got 69,228 votes. SubhaSP had secured a total of 12,52,925 votes in the 2022 elections, which was 1.36 percent of the total vote percentage.

OP Rajbhar does his politics on the votes of Rajbhar caste of Purvanchal. He claims that if he cannot win seats in Purvanchal, he can definitely spoil the equation of any party. This is the reason why he had shown his strength in Purvanchal in the last elections and here BJP had lost many seats because of his equations. Especially the impact of his party was seen in Ghazipur, Mau, Jaunpur, Ballia and Basti districts.

These 6 seats were won

  • Zahoorabad (Ghazipur): Om Prakash Rajbhar defeated BJP by a margin of 45,632 votes.
  • Jakhaniya (SC, Ghazipur): Triveni Ram defeated BJP’s Ramraj Vanvasi by a margin of 36,865 votes.

Subhashpa stood second on these two seats

Subhaspa’s strike rate was better in Purvanchal, but it was disappointed in many seats, but it stood second in Misrikh seat of Sitapur. BJP won from here, while Subhaspa’s Manoj Raguvanshi got 79,627 votes and lost by 11,465 votes. Apart from this, Subhashpa stood second from Dhanghata reserved seat also. Here the margin of defeat from BJP was only 10,553 votes. Apart from this, Deoria’s Salempur (SC) was also at second position from Shohratgarh, while SubhaSP had given a tough fight on Ramkola and Ajgara seats also.

Let us tell you that OP Rajbhar had contested the 2017 and 2022 assembly elections along with Akhilesh Yadav and they got benefit in the elections. But it remains to be seen how many seats BJP will give them in the 2027 elections under these circumstances.
