S Jaishankar's direct warning to Pakistan, said – the neighboring country's policy will never be successful

Washington: India gave a direct warning to Pakistan on Saturday. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said the neighboring country's policy of cross-border terrorism will never succeed and its actions will definitely have consequences. Foreign Minister Jaishankar addressed the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). During this, he said that many countries are left behind due to circumstances beyond their control, but some countries deliberately take such decisions, the consequences of which are disastrous. The biggest example of this is our neighboring country Pakistan.

A day after Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif raised the issue of Jammu and Kashmir during his address to the UN General Assembly and exercised the right of reply on behalf of the Pakistani diplomat, Jaishankar came down hard on him and said in the General Assembly that Islamabad's misdeeds also impact other countries, especially its neighbors.

S Jaishankar said that when this politics creates such radicalization among its people, its GDP can only be measured in terms of its exports in the form of radicalism and terrorism. Strongly criticizing Pakistan, Jaishankar said that today we are seeing that the troubles which Pakistan has tried to bring on others are swallowing its own society. He cannot blame the world. This is just karma.

The External Affairs Minister said that a failed nation occupying the land of others must be exposed and countered. Jaishankar said that we heard some strange things on this very stage yesterday. Therefore, I want to make India's position completely clear. Pakistan's policy of cross-border terrorism will never succeed and there is no hope for it going unpunished. On the contrary, actions will definitely have consequences.

Jaishankar said the only issue left to be resolved between India and Pakistan is for Pakistan to vacate the illegally occupied Indian territory and renounce its long-term association with terrorism.
He also said that terrorism is contrary to all the beliefs of the world. He said that all its forms and manifestations should be strongly opposed. The imposition of sanctions on global terrorists by the United Nations should also not be hindered for political reasons.

Jaishankar's remarks come in the backdrop of Pakistan's ally China repeatedly obstructing the proposals submitted by India and its allies like the US to designate terrorists present in Pakistan under Section 1267. Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif raised the issue of Jammu and Kashmir while addressing the general assembly on Friday. He had mentioned Article 370 and Hizbul terrorist Burhan Wani in his speech of more than 20 minutes. (agency)
