New Delhi, Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has decided to no longer play in the Indian Premier Premier League (IPL). Watson, who played for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, has led the team management to his decision.
According to the report by Cricbuzz, Chennai Super Kings team management has confirmed this with Cricbuzz. Chennai has said that the two-time most valuable player in the IPL took this decision after the match played against Kings XI Punjab on Sunday.
Watson’s Chennai team is already out of IPL-13. The team has failed to make it to the playoffs for the first time in IPL history. In IPL-13, Watson’s bat has yielded 299 runs in 11 matches.
Watson has won the IPL title with the Rajasthan Royals in 2008 and the Chennai Super Kings in 2018. In addition, he has been Player of the Tournament in 2008 and 2013.
The 39-year-old Watson has scored 3874 runs in 145 matches at an average of 137.91 in the IPL so far. In this, he has also scored four centuries and has also taken 92 wickets including a hat-trick. Apart from this, he has also captained Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
