Shocking unsold Indian all-rounder in IPL auction
Mumbai Mumbai. Many cricketers got a chance in the IPL 2025 auction and joined the new franchise in a significant change. However, some big names were surprisingly left unsold as franchises were not showing interest in buying players. One such cricketer who could not find any taker recently registered an unwanted record in the history of the SMAT T20 tournament.
Shardul Thakur, once the star Indian all-rounder, recently created unwanted history while being a part of the domestic T20 tournament, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The fast-bowling all-rounder recorded the worst bowling figures in SMAT T20 history by going 4-0-69-1 in Mumbai's 43-run defeat against Kerala in the Group E match in Hyderabad.
The Indian all-rounder was part of the IPL 2025 mega auction and was expected to confirm his selection in the teams. Surprisingly, no franchise came forward to bid on the fast bowling all-rounder, leaving him unsold in the mega auction. Thakur had fixed a base price of Rs 2 crore for himself, which was the highest amount to be paid in the auction for any player. The most surprising thing in the two-day bidding process held in Jeddah was that they did not find any buyer.
