Shreyas Iyer out of Ahmedabad Test! How will be the treatment going forward? BCCI said, IPL 2023 will also be missed?

Shreyas Iyer ruled out of Ahmedabad Test. He will no longer play in the ongoing fourth Test against Australia. Shreyas Iyer had back pain after the third day’s play. Because of this, he did not come to bat on the fourth day. After this he was sent for the scan. Now BCCI has said that they are out of Test completely. Experts will be consulted about their condition. Iyer was battling a back injury ahead of the Test series against Australia and now it looks like the same problem has resurfaced.

The injury ruled Iyer out of the ODI series against New Zealand and the first Test in Nagpur. He returned in the Delhi Test. But he failed in this series and could not play a single big innings. He scored 42 runs in four innings against Australia in the Delhi and Indore Tests. His highest score was 26. Iyer is expected to miss the opening matches of IPL 2023.

Shreyas’s injury has also raised questions on the National Cricket Academy. Within a month of being declared fit, he got injured again. It is not clear how he was given the fitness certificate. Jaspreet Bumrah was in the same condition before Iyer. He had a back problem last year. Then he came to play against Australia and the injury became serious. His name was announced in January for the ODI series against Sri Lanka. But then he got injured and now he has to undergo surgery. That’s why he stayed out till the World Cup.
