Singham Again: Is Arjun Kapoor's role inspired by Ravana of Ramayana?

Mumbai Mumbai. Ajay Devgan is ready for the release of his upcoming film Singham Again. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the film stars Arjun Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor and Tiger Shroff. The makers have revealed the roles of all the stars except Arjun. The makers have hinted that he will play an antagonist but what it all entails has been kept under wraps.

According to a report in Mid-Day, Arjun will be pitted against Ajay in Singham Again. The negative character of Arjuna is reportedly based on Ravana (from the mythological story Ramayana). “Arjun is playing the role of a militant in the action film. Ajay's Singham, along with his police team, will be seen heading to Sri Lanka to take on the villain.”Mid-Day report further added that while Shetty was working on Singham Again, he was working on the film- Wanting to give the lovers something new rooted in our culture, Pinkvilla had revealed that the police drama takes reference from the mythological epic Ramayana.

According to a report by Pinkvilla, Singham Again “sets the future timeline for the police universe as it opens up a lot of sub-plots for Simmba, Sooryavanshi, Lady Singham and Satya too. With Ajay as Bajirao Singham, The third part of the Singham franchise can be seen as the first of many Avengers films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
