Skoda Teases Design Sketches Of The Facelift Enyaq and Enyaq Coupe Electric SUV
Skoda has revealed the design sketches for the upcoming facelifted versions of the Enyaq and Enyaq coupe electric SUVs which will debut sometime next year. It features the Modern Solid Design language which we first saw in the Skoda Elroq and also in the recently unveiled Skoda Kylaq in the Indian market.
The front of the vehicle is completely changed and it now features split headlamps which shift the headlamp assembly lower down on the bumper and there are LED DRLs at the top. Skoda has also replaced the “Skoda” logo with script. Things remain more or less the same from the side of the vehicle but we can expect new wheel designs. In terms of the rear, there could be new LED lights and a redesigned bumper as well.
Mechanical details remain a mystery though. There are chances that Skoda will add more power and range into their electric models but they could carry forward the same system as well. The Enyaq currently comes with two battery packs and there is the option of either a two wheel drive or an all wheel drive model.
The base Enyaq 60 comes with a 60 kWh battery pack which gets a rear mounted motor producing 177 bhp and 310 Nm of torque. It has an estimated range of 401 kms on the WLTP cycle. The Enyaq 85 features a larger 82 kWh battery pack which produces 282 bhp and 545 Nm of torque. It has an estimated range of 566 kms on the WLTP cycle. The Enyaq 85x is the AWD version, has the same power as the Enyaq 85 but has lower 539 kms of range. The top of the line vRS model features the same 82 kWh battery pack but the electric motors produce 340 bhp and 545 Nm of torque. It has a range of 542 kms on the WLTP cycle. In terms of fast charging, one can charge the vehicle with a 175 kW DC charger.
Will The Enyaq Come To India
Earlier, there was certainly news that the Enyaq will make its way into the Indian market and we have already seen a few test mules being tested for our market but that hasn’t materialized yet. With the launch of the Elroq, we got the news that it may make its way into the Indian market and offer a more affordable EV solution and product in the lineup. If the facelift will come to the Indian market or not is yet to be seen.
