Here, a team of UCL researchers has conducted research published in Nature Human Behavior regarding spending time on social media. This has been revealed in the study. It was told in this study that, if you use smartphone, laptop, social media more during the day, then it has a deep impact on your mental health.
According to the study, the online browsing habits of more than 1,000 participants were examined, where the emotional aspects of all the participants were examined. It was found that there is a huge change in the mental health and condition. Here the researchers hypothesized that, when experiencing symptoms of poor mental health, they browsed negative content more often.
Social media is used the most in India
Let us tell you that here in the world, the statistics point towards India as to where social media is used the most. Here, research firm 'Redseer' said in its information that, on an average, every Indian internet user uses mobile for more than 7.3 hours a day and uses social media a lot in this.
Research journal PubMed states that 70% of people use smartphones or remain busy on social media before sleeping. Due to being too active on social media, sleep is not complete and the person becomes a victim of depression or amnesia.
Disadvantages of using social media

1- Social media means you spend time in artificial life, due to this you lose connection with your loved ones.
2- If you have become addicted to social media then the problem of depression and anxiety troubles you. Living in the virtual world affects mental health.
3- In order to show yourself better on social media, your feeling of stress and irritation increases. Which spoils mental health.
