CWG 2022: Manika Batra and Sathian reach quarterfinals in table tennis mixed doubles event

CWG 2022: Manika Batra and Sathian reach quarterfinals in table tennis mixed doubles event


With the wrestling competitions starting today, India’s medal hopes have once again increased. In the last Commonwealth Games, India won 12 medals in wrestling, of which 5 were gold medals. India is expected to put up a similar performance this time as well. Apart from wrestling, today India will enter sports like badminton, squash, athletics and table tennis.

India’s G Sathian and Manika Batra have reached the quarter-finals of mixed doubles. In the round of 16, they defeated the Nigerian duo of Olajide Omotoyo and Ajoke Ojomu 3–0.

In another match, India’s Achanta Sharath Kamal and Akula Sreeja are playing mixed doubles against Malaysia’s Leong Chi Feng and Ho Ying.

Lawnball Women’s Paris Quarter Finals

India trail 8-11 at the end of 11 lawn balls. The day began with India’s lawn ball women playing Lovely Chaubey and Nayanmoni Saikia in the Paris quarter-finals. Both these players were part of the Lone Ball team that created history by winning the gold medal this time.
