Punjab beat Bengaluru by 54 runs, qualify for playoff
Mumbai Explosive half-centuries from Jonny Bairstow (66) and Liam Livingston (70) were followed by a scintillating performance by the bowlers as Punjab Kings kept their hopes of reaching the playoffs alive after beating Royal Challengers Bangalore by 54 runs in an IPL match on Friday. Punjab posted a strong score of 209 for nine in 20 overs and then restricted Bengaluru’s challenge to 155 for nine in 20 overs.
This is Punjab’s sixth win in 12 matches and has moved up to the sixth position in the points table. Bengaluru suffered a sixth loss in 13 matches but remained in fourth place. Bengaluru will have to win their last match at any cost for their playoff hopes.
