Sri Lanka 102 runs for one wicket till lunch

Sri Lanka made a good comeback after losing the wicket of opener Pathum Nissanka in the opening over and scored 102 runs for one wicket till lunch on the opening day of the second Test against New Zealand here on Thursday.

Dinesh Chandimal, who usually bats at number five, was sent to number three and proved the team management's decision right by scoring his second half-century in the series. At lunch time he was scoring 60 runs off 99 balls with nine fours.


Chandimal has made an important partnership of 100 runs for the second wicket with opener Dimuth Karunaratne. At lunch, Karunaratne was playing on 40 runs. Sri Lanka leads the two-match series 1-0 after winning the first match by 63 runs.
