Strict arrangements for 8th, 10th and 12th board exams in Punjab, 8.18 lakh students will appear

The Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab government has made elaborate arrangements to conduct the class 8th, 10th and 12th board examinations in a fair, secure and transparent manner in Punjab. More than 8.18 lakh students are appearing in these examinations across the state.

To ensure fairness of examinations, Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has implemented a technology-based monitoring system. Under this, 384 flying squads and 111 special teams have been deployed, which will conduct surprise inspections of the examination centres. Also, first of its kind M.A.T.Q for real-time tracking of question papers. (MATQ) app has been introduced, so that any possibility of paper leak can be completely eliminated.

Examination will be held at 6,792 examination centers

A total of 6,792 examination centers have been set up in the state. In these-

  • 8th grade: 2,307 centers

  • 10th grade: 2,367 centers

  • 12th grade: 2,118 centers

More than 5,600 officers-employees, including 2,469 superintendents and 3,193 deputy superintendents, have been deployed for smooth monitoring of the examinations.

Section 144 implemented within 100 meter radius

To maintain a calm and disciplined examination environment, Section 144 has been imposed within a radius of 100 meters of all the examination centres. This will prevent crowding by unauthorized persons and copying can be strictly controlled.

Appeal for honesty from students

Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains while congratulating the students said,
“Examinations are meant to test knowledge. Students should take the exams with fearlessness, confidence and honesty. Your hard work will brighten your future and take Punjab to new heights.”

He said that with technology, strict monitoring and zero tolerance policy, the state government’s dream of a transparent education system is coming true. This initiative is an important step towards strengthening accountability, discipline and trust in the education system.
