Students made aware on International Child Rights Day

Lucknow – On the occasion of International Child Rights Day, the students of Episen Girls Inter College in the capital Lucknow were made aware by Human Unity Movement (HUM). On the occasion of International Child Rights Day, A.P. A special program was organized at Sen Girls Inter School. The program was started by Dr. Sangeeta Sharma of the institute by singing “Hind Desh Ke Niwasi, Sabhi Jan Ek Hai” with the children, which awakened the feeling of unity and patriotism in everyone.

After this, *President of the organization Anshumali Sharma* told the children in simple language about why and what is the International Child Rights Convention signed in 1989 and its importance. He said that in this agreement, four sets of rights for children – survival, development, protection and participation rights – were explained in detail.

Dr. Sangeeta Sharma, Secretary of the organization, informed about the government helpline services available for children 112,

Gave information about 1090, 181 and 1098. He told that when needed, children can not only help themselves by using these services but can also help others.

Human Unity Movement (HUM) has been working for children and women in Lucknow for the last 27 years. The organization operated the Child Helpline for about 26 years, which is now run by the state government. During this period the organization worked continuously for the rights, safety and welfare of children.

Students shared their understanding. Principal Usushi Ghosh, NSS Program Officer Aarti and other teachers participated in the program and urged to organize similar programs in future also. The objective of the program was to make children and youth aware of their rights and empower them. .
