After over a year, the production house Lyca announced that it will back the directorial debut of actor Vijay’s son, Jason Sanjay; an announcement regarding the cast and crew has been made on Friday.
Accordingly, Sundeep Kishan will be helming the film, while Thaman S has been roped in as the music director and Praveen KL as the editor. Details like the rest of the cast and cinematographer are yet to be revealed. The untitled film has been tentatively titled Jason Sanjay 01, Sundeep Kishan 31, and Lyca Productions Next.
In August last year, Lyca Productions’ Subaskaran and Jason Sanjay posed for a picture holding the signed agreement of the project. In an official statement he issued back then, Jason had said it was an honour for him to be associated with a “prestigious production house’ like Lyca Productions. Praising the banner as a hub that encourages upcoming talents, he added that he felt glad Lyca liked his script and enabled him to exercise “complete creative freedom.” It is worth noting that Jason has acquired a degree in filmmaking in the US and also did a screenwriting course in London.
Having last made Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyandirected by TJ Gnanavel, Lyca has two biggies in its release lineup: Magizh Thirumeni’s Vidaamuyarchi, starring Ajith Kumar and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s sequel to the hit film Lucifer, L2: Impuritywith Mohanlal playing the lead.
